ITINERARI
San
Gimignano
HD – (Half Day Visit) A visit to discover the towers, the squares, the roads of San Gimignano, travelling through it's main streets and on the path which runs along it's walls to discover beautiful scenaries as we reach the churches of San Iocopo and of S. Agostino to finally arrive at the Rocca di Montestaffoli the highest point of the city.
FD - (Full Day) In addition to the tour mentionned above we'll take you to the discovery of the artistic masterpieces contained within the magnificient Collegiata and to the pinacoteca of the town hall with it's Torre Grossa the highest tower in the city. To this can also be added a visit to the town museum to see the antic pharmacy of Santa Fina and the estruscan artefacts found in their tombs and exposed in the same museum.
Fun around the Val d'Elsa
A daytrip to discover a rich and fascinating region. We will start from the town of Colle Val d'Elsa capital of italian crystal, walking through it's charming antic centre flanked on a hilltop, and then proceed on to the castle of Monteriggioni with its crown of towers. We will end our day with the discovery of the antic poggio Bonizio. A city destroyed long ago by florentines where an important archeological excavation has taken place.
Pienza and Bagno Vignoni
A day spent in some of the most beautiful places in the world:the city of Pienza symbol of the quattrocento ( of the forteen hundreds ) we shall visit the church of San Vito without forgetting to taste the renouned Pecorino cheese. From here we will move on to Bagno Vignoni, a place of history and hot springs frequented by Saint Catherine and Lorenzo the magnificient, with its imposing remains of old water mills and its "swimming pool" square
San Quirico d'Orcia, Montalcino a Sant's Antimo
NIn the XIIth century San Quirico was the meeting place between the representatives of both the Pope and of the imperor Frederick the Redbeard. It was the fiefdom of the Chigi family that once lived in the immense palace which is today the town hall. The town also offers a splendid romanesque gothic church and the precious garden Degli Horti Leonini dating back to the high renaissance. From here we'll move on to the heartland of the Brunello, Montalcino wine and to the splendid abbey of Sant'Antimo. Both places are to be seen while tasting the inimitable flavours of this land ( wine, honey olive oil pecorino cheese prosciutto)
Le Crete: Monte Oliveto Maggiore, Asciano and San Giovanni d'Asso
A Place of art and faith Monte Olivetto offers peace, reflexion, knowledge and beauty, frescoes and inlaid work. Nearby lays two lovely historical centers: Asciano with it's romanesque basilic of Santa Agata and it's public museum which offers high quality examples of 14th century paintings and etruscan artefacts and the hilltop village of San Giovanni d'asso with it's castle unique of it's kind watching over a valley famous for harboring plenty of truffles.
Montepulciano and it's surroundings, great wines and great chefs
Our trip can only begin with the gem of the val di Chiana, the town of Montepulciano. It's palaces filled with noble families and its churchs frequented by great artist. Here one can find the numerous cellars excavated from under the city of the Vino Nobile. On the outskirts of this historical center we can find the renaissance town of S.Biagio and at at only a few kilometres away from here Montefollinico, senese castle, renowned for it's chefs.
Chiusi and the etruscans
From it's medieval center to it's underground network of etruscan tunnels to visit Chiusi means rediscovering the etruscan legends and the mysterious king Porsenna. The city disposes of an up to date archeological museum and offers also some of the very few etruscan tombs open to the public in tuscany. Nearby are the towns of Cetona and Sarteano, both magical places, closed off from within their medieval walls where celebrities spend their holidays. In the same area we can find the famous tomb of the Quadriga Infernale recently discovered with it's etruscans frescoes still intact.
The Chianti Area
A day spent between the pleasures of the palate and those of sight we will discover an antic peasant culture that has become the symbol of a new form of hedonism. Between the hamlets of Castellina, Radda and Gaiole visiting the gardens of the castle of Brolio and of Meleto we will stop by at the cellars of these rough hills to taste the nectar of the oak barrels.

HD (Half Day) A first approach to the city of the palio by visiting it's unmissable landmarks: the duomo, san Domenico, the Piazza del Campo.
FD (Full Day) We add to the program mentionned above the visit of Palazzo pubblico museum and of the church of san francesco in order to have a proper first impression of the city.

contrade (the districts)
To discover Siena properly one needs to come into contact with the world of its historical districts (contrada). For this purpose we add to the classical tour a visit in one of the seventeen districts which composes the city to see how the traditional life of the "contrada" takes place.
Siena sovreign republic
Going from the palazzo pubblico on the footprints of this medieval republic's proud history we shall visit the squares along the francigena, tolomei and Salimbeni roads and proceed on to the more offbeat areas of Camolia and the area of Provenzano. We will finally reach the city's most beautifull gates of Pispini and Romana permitting us to immerge ourselves in an antic atmospher that here has never been lost.
Siena and it's great artists
A visit entirely dedicated to art by the city's greatest painters and sculptors such as Duccio, Simone Martini, Lorenzetti, jacopo della Quercia etc... While not forgetting to visit the duomo, the museum dell'opera, the crypt, the baptistry and also the Pinacoteca and the church of Sant Agostino . We will finish with the pubblico palace of piazza del Campo as to have a complete panorama on one of the most prestigeous artistic cultures of italy.
Who are the Sienese?
Discover the history of a people and it's great characters, starting with the hospital of Santa Maria della Scala to see how the public health system worked in the days of the republic: We will also be on the search for the patron saint of Italy, Catherine, by visiting "her" sanctuary house and the church of San Dominico. We will then visit the oratory dedicated to the preacher San Bernardino and San francesco to finally discover the Monte Paschi di Siena bank the oldest bank in the world also kown as the "father" of the city.

Special: the Palio
During the days of the palio ( june the 29th to the july 2nd and from the 13th to the 16th of august.) we offer special tours in order to have an insider's view into the simulated war of siena's historical horse race and the festive atmospher which surrounds it. We will become part and not only spectators of a unique event in the world that has been taking place uninterruptedly for nearly half a millenia.
